What colour is your palette?

The word 'palette' can have more than one meaning. First, it can mean the object on which an artist places and mixes paint. This type of palette is normally white in colour.

However, 'palette' can also mean the colour of paint you like to use. A warm palette could mean that you mainly use warm colours such as reds, oranges, yellows, and perhaps browns. A cool palette could contain colours such as greens and blues. Using a 'limited' palette means that you paint with a limited number of colours. This is not the end of the 'warm and cool' story though. More coming on this topic in a future post.
