Tips for Overcoming and Artist's Block - Part 2

Try a new medium
If you always paint with transparent watercolour but are feeling stifled, consider introducing another medium to your work. Here are some things you might try.
  1. ink
  2.  gouache
  3.  pastels
  4. watersoluble coloured pencils
  5. watersoluble crayons
  6. regular coloured pencils, or crayons
  7. acrylic paint
  8. casein paint
  9. modeling paste
Try a new surface
Here are some different painting surfaces you might explore.  
  1. masa paper
  2. yupo paper
  3. watercolour board
  4. watercolour canvas
  5. watercolour paper treated with gesso
  6. watercolour paper (or another surface) treated with watercolour ground (Daniel Smith, or Golden brand)
  7. clayboard (www.ampersandart.com)
