Tomato sketch/drawing

This is a watercolour and pen sketch showing a cluster of tomatoes on a grafted tomato plant in my garden. I can't find its name tag so I am unable to tell you the exact name of the plant. It is something like a Roma. So far it has given me 55 tomatoes, and there are more coming. The fruit in this cluster were at various stages of ripeness. Although this sketch doesn't portray it, the plant is very large and thick, more like a bush.

I started the sketch in early morning. It was a challenge to capture the shadow patterns on the fruit because they changed quickly as the sun continued to rise. The colours in my paintbox were good for this subject though. After the sketch was partially painted, I just couldn't help myself, I had to include lines. I love line drawings!

Colours used are by M. Graham. They are: azo orange, azo yellow, napthol red, and dioxazine purple. The green is a mix of sap and azo yellow.
