Embossing machines

My first test of a Cuttlebug folder. Wow! This is so cool!
For several years, I've toyed with the notion of getting an embossing machine. However, I wasn't certain it would be something I could make use of in my work, so I never got around to buying one.

That changed after I saw a post on Seth Apter's blog (thealteredpage.blogspot.com) about how he created a set of Artist Trading Cards using a Spellbinder. Since I wasn't familiar with this machine I posted a note on his blog asking him about the Spellbinder. He kindly replied telling me how his Spellbinder is helping with his art making.

Interesting too, I have just recently reconnected with an artist friend who is making artful greeting cards with the help of a Cuttlebug. Thanks to Seth and my card making friends, I learned a lot about embossing machines, folders and dies. I became extremely interested in trying one.

So I went looking for a Spellbinder. Because there were none to be found in my local craft store,  I ended up with a Cuttlebug instead. A staff person at the store told me the Cuttlebug can use some Spellbinder dies so I am content with this decision. I am sure the Cuttlebug and I will get along just fine. Let the fun begin!
